Marlee Gates - Piano Accompanist
Marlee grew up in a musical family, promoting fiddle music throughout Alberta with the “Gates Family Band” playing for jamborees, festivals, and her favorite: dances! Along with learning the fiddle by ear, Marlee has her ARCT Diploma in Classical Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She enjoys teaching students of all ages, and always aims to create a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Marlee currently teaches private piano lessons, is a Piano Accompanist at First United Church, and works as a Recreational Therapist Assistant at a Long Term Care Center. As an RTA, Marlee loves sharing her passion for Old Tyme Fiddle Music and has recently picked up the ukulele with a purpose of engaging in Old Tyme Sing-A-Longs with the residents. Seeing the joy brought to people of all ages through music inspires her to never stop playing and learning, and to keep sharing the music!
