As a church community, we are actively involved in various outreach activities in our community. These include participating annually in the Meals on Wheels programme in August and lunch at the Bissel Centre twice per year. We collect food stuff for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank. Each year through our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, we collect items for local schools and inner-city ministries. We contribute to other initiatives in our community as needs arise.
Care Team
If you wish to share a joy, concern, or celebration with the congregation, the Care Team has created prayer request cards: a quiet, alternative opportunity for the more reserved among us to share their prayer requests with the congregation. Our worship leader will then include this person and/or situation in the Prayers of the People. These cards are located in the Narthex, beside the Sanctuary. If you or someone you know has an Urgent Pastoral Care need (critical illness visitation, death, etc.), please contact the church office.
Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank
The First Sunday of every month is Food Bank Sunday. Non-perishable food donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated. If you would like to contact them directly to inquire about donations or volunteer opportunities, visit their website.
Bissell Centre
A driver from the Bissell Centre will be here every second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Please bring your donations to the Church just prior to these dates and place the items in the Bissell Bin located in the basement hallway of the church. For a list of items they need, visit their website.
Mustard Seed
We collect coats and other warm outer clothing for the Mustard Seed Centre. This is especially needed in the fall before the cold weather hits. Visit their website for more.
Mental Health / Wellness
We are committed to bring awareness about mental health and wellness. This topic is spoken about in our worship services and we have held activities which highlight this important reality. We seek to remove the stigma about mental illness from persons living with mental illness and persons affected by mental illness. Further activities will be planned.
